The use of the Actis card in Delphi Slow Controls

Since 1995 the so called Actis card is used as a replacement for the standard Slow Control G64 6809 CPU card (and Ethernet card). The Actis card (SBC342) is a single height (3U) G96 card based around the Motorola 68340 processor with on board ethernet interface and 4 Mb of DRAM. The card is manufactured by Actis computer s.a. in Geneva. The card is running the OS-9 real time operating system from Microware (currently version 2.4, to be compatible with the DAS system).

At the end of datataking 1996, the whole of the gas system (28 units) was running on the new Actis cards. In addition three systems in the slow control were running on the Actis card. It is foreseen that a few more systems will be moved to the Actis card in the 96/97 shutdown.

The idea is to use these pages to collect all kind of useful information for the users of the Actis card (documentation, tips, tricks, bugs etc.). So if you are an Actis card user: watch this area !.
