oLatest News

o First beam circulated in LEP on the early morning of 29-mar. First collisions can be expected as early as monday 3-apr.
o Pit meetings will now be held according to the usual schedule: monday, wednesday, friday; usual time, usual place (16:00 in the pit meeting room).
The minutes of the last pit meetings are available at the usual place.

oRecommendations to detectors

o The start of the 2000 data taking campaign is near. So this might be a good time to do a spring cleaning of your SX8 and UX8 locations, to keep there only the necessary stuff for efficient working.
o Philippe Gavillet has started to update the Pit8 Phone List for 2000. Please have a look and mail Philippe any modifications.
o The fix of a Y2K bug in the database access package requires that all programs that access the databases to be relinked. This concerns in particular Elementary Processes (the 'official' version 4.A/2 has already be relinked), see also this news posted by Tim.
o In case your GSM telephone was suspended during the shutdown, please check if it works again. If not, contact Philippe Charpentier.

oActual situation of Delphi

o Gas is stable for all detectors. The flammable gas zone has officially been re-installed 6-mar, and SLIMOS shifts have started. Cosmics datataking has started 14 mar. Solenoid is running nominal. The RIB has been heated up to 40 degr. C.
o Delphi (as wel as most of the rest of the world) survived the jump into the year 2000.
It also survived the two heavy storms, with only minor damage (damaged air extraction pipes, unforeseen interruptions of the online cluster).
